Hand-scraped hardwood floors and hand-troweled plaster walls with a custom glaze draw the eye into the dining room, great room and open kitchen. A pair of Yellow Pine columns support the 9′ ceilings of the dining room and help to define this area. These columns were repurposed from a cotton mill in China Grove, North Carolina. Just beyond the dining room lies the great room with its massive brick and stone fireplace and its 11′ ceilings. This space has a commanding stature but is still warm and inviting. A massive hand-crafted mantle and corbels were created from a pre-1900 log cabin once located in West Branson, Missouri. The telltale marks of the settler’s saw can still be seen on the timbers used to make this remarkable piece. Large windows flanking the fireplace and two patio doors offer copious amounts of natural light and an unobstructed view of the covered stamped concrete patio, outdoor living area, pond and common area.
Everyone knows the kitchen is the gathering place of family and friends and this will certainly be the talk of the neighborhood with its charm and beauty. Generous amounts of storage space can be found within the custom cabinetry of the kitchen and adjoining panty. The rich colors of the Jacobian stain compliment the white paint and hand-washed glaze used to intensify the kitchen’s splendor. Further, granite counter tops and a tumbled Travertine backsplash retain the Old World feel and help to unify the cabinetry, as well. Stainless steel appliances can be found throughout and include a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, gas oven with a 5-burner cooktop, an additional electric wall oven, built-in microwave and a wine chiller, in the butler’s pantry.
