HBA of Greater Springfield Membership Participation Points are calculated over a three-year period. Points are used to determine the Home & Outdoor Living Show registration order for the following three-year period after points have been calculated.
Every 3 years, points return to zero, and a new accrual period begins. In the past, accrual periods have been determined by Home Show dates. The current period began after Home Show 2023 and ends on December 31, 2025.
Moving forward, periods will consist of three calendar years. The next point accrual period will begin on January 1, 2026. HBA may also use points in special circumstances as needed and reserves the right to update the point system as needed.
Events include, but are not limited to:
- Home & Outdoor Living Show (Home Show)
- Tools of the Trade
- Power Hour
- Fishing Tournaments
- Golf Tournament
- HBACF Fundraising Events
- Grateful Gathering
- Holiday Giving Back
- Any additional HBA/HBACF hosted events

HBA Membership Participation Points are awarded for the following items. Additional point opportunities may be added at the discretion of HBA.
Points awarded for volunteerism
- Volunteering at any HBA or HBACF event – (1 point per HBA member employee/day)
- Volunteering in the community as a representative of HBA – (1 point per HBA member organization/event)
Points awarded for event attendance/participation
- Attending any HBA event excluding Home Show – must sign in at event (1 point per HBA member organization)
- Participating as a vendor at Home Show
- Booth price up to $1,000 (1 point)
- Booth price of $1,001 – $2,500 (2 points)
- Booth price of $2,501 – $5,000 (3 points)
- Booth of $5,000+ (4 points)

- Hosting HBA/HBACF event (2 points per event/meeting)
- Performing a service (points determined based on HBA calculation of value)
- Loaning equipment (points determined based on HBA calculation of value)
Points awarded for HBA/HBACF sponsorship (per individual sponsorship)
- $1 – $999 (1 point)
- $1,000 – $2,499 (2 points)
- $2,500 – $4,999 (3 points)
- $5,000 – $9,999 (4points)
- $10,000+ (5 points)
- In-kind sponsorship points determined by equivalent value
Marketing, Advertisement, and Social Media
- HBA Event Magazine advertisement (2 points/year)
- Banner advertisement on HBA website (2 points/year)
- Premium advertisement listing on HBA website (1 point/year)
- Advertising in monthly HBA newsletter (1 point/year)

New Member Recruitment:
- Each new member recruited (1 point)
Investment in CBBT Advocacy Program
- Each contribution year as part of HBA membership renewal (1 point)
- Contributions over $100 (1 point)
Points awarded for monetary donations to HBACF:
- $50 to $250 (1 point/year)
- $251 to $500 (2 points/year)
- $501+ (3 points/year)
Points awarded for membership longevity as follows:
- One additional point per year will be given for every five (5) consecutive years of HBA membership.
We want to get it right! Points will be sent to members for review in January of each year. If you believe you have earned points that have gone uncounted, please feel free to address the issue at that time. Sign-in at events is required to earn attendance points – no exceptions.
