SS&B’s story began in August of 1969 when three friends – Kenneth Skaggs, Roy Smith – Jerry Brown joined together to start their own HVAC company. That partnership didn’t last, but the company did under the late Kenneth Skaggs’ guidance.
Sadly, Kenneth Skaggs passed away in 1996. A transition agreement between Kenneth’s wife Sonja Skaggs and Michael & Angelia Childers was made to allow SS&B Heating and Cooling to continue operations and eventually change ownership to the Childers.
For the next 20 years, the Childers’ hard work and dedication allowed the company to grow and flourish. Always maintaining the highest levels of integrity and professionalism, the company is well known and respected throughout the community.
In the fall of 2016, longtime SS&B employee Jeremy Grisham approached Mike Childers with a plan of succession. On August 10, 2017, Jeremy Grisham took over ownership of SS&B Heating and Cooling. As an experienced HVAC professional, with nearly 19 years at SS&B alone, Mr. Grisham understands the importance of the foundation of this company and continues to uphold it’s traditions of integrity and service to the community.
Throughout 2019, SS&B will celebrate their Golden Anniversary of 50 years in business. Jeremy Grisham, along with his employees and friends and family, are marching full speed ahead into the future with no signs of slowing down.
