Springfield home builder Rusty MacLachlan is officially in the running for one of the Greene County Commission’s three seats.
MacLachlan of MacLachlan Construction Co. Inc. announced in a news release he’s seeking the District 1 associate commissioner seat currently held by Harold Bengsch.
“Our community has seen tremendous growth over the past several decades, which has made Greene County a great place to live. My family’s history in the construction industry dates back over 200 years,” MacLachlan said in the release. “In order for Greene County to grow into a safer and more successful community, we need increased leadership from the private sector, rather than from the courthouse or statehouse.”
Currently, MacLachlan will have at least one opponent – State Rep. Sonya Anderson. Incumbent Harold Bengsch has not officially announced his intentions concerning running for an additional term.
The candidates are scheduled to face off in the August 4, 2020 primaries.
