“Home building and remodeling generates income and jobs for local residents, as well as revenue for local governments,” says HBA CEO Matt Morrow. “In general, we know the estimated impact of building 100 single-family housing units is $21.1 million in local income, $2.2 million in taxes and other revenue for local governments, and 324 local jobs. Right now, that job impact is critically important to ascertain for our community leaders as they try to move us toward recovery. We’ve commissioned Eisenberg to help us understand these economic impacts for our 5-county area.”

As a Senior Economist with the National Association of Home Builders in Washington, D.C., Dr. Eisenberg holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in economics with First Class Honors from McGill University as well as a Master of Public Administration degree and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Eisenberg is a frequent public speaker on numerous housing and housing related topics including; the economic impact of homebuilding, the unintended consequences of government regulations on house prices, residential fire safety and how to reduce risk and boost profits using financial derivatives. He is the creator of the multifamily stock index and is the author of more than 45 homebuilding industry articles. Dr. Eisenberg is frequently seen on television and heard on radio and his research and opinions have been featured in Business Week, Fortune, many national and local newspapers, and in numerous other publications.
