NAHB Business Management Class

The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield’s Charitable Foundation has announced it will offer 50% scholarships for HBA members who register for and complete upcoming local classes to earn their Certified Green Professional Designation. But time is running out. The courses are scheduled for March 15-17 (download registration here). The HBACF has allocated approximately $5,000 in scholarship dollars. The allocation is to fund scholarships for approximately 20 HBA members seeking to complete both courses in March, but when the fund is gone, so are the scholarships!

Availability of the scholarships is limited; scholarships will be awarded only to members of the HBA of Greater Springfield. They will cover 50% of the tuition for each of the two classes offered, on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants applicants for the course will be notified of their eligibility for scholarship dollars immediately upon their application. Scholarship dollars will be awarded as a rebate to participating HBA members upon successful completion of the courses for which they are seeking scholarships.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Springfield is offering both necessary NAHB Designation Classes required to earn the CGP designation. The CGP courses will be offered by instructor Kevin Enyeart in Springfield March 15-17, 2011. The CGP recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes—without driving up the cost of construction. Class work leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.

CGP Designation Requirements: A minimum of two years of building industry experience, successful completion of the Green Building for Building Professionals (2-days) and Business Management for Building Professionals (1-day) courses or hold an active NAHB professional designation. Continuing education is required every three years.

For more information about scholarships or to enroll, download and complete the CGP registration form. Or, contact Amanda Heinz by email, or call her at 417-881-3711.
