Compton wins Council Primary by nearly 70% of vote

Incumbent Zone 3 Springfield City Councilman Jerry Compton won the February 22 primary by nearly 70 percent of the vote. Compton, supported by the HBA of Greater Springfield’s political action committee (the Coalition for Building a Better Tomorrow) as well as the Springfield Good Government Committee, will be on the ballot again for the general election on April 5. Other Springfield Good Government recommended candidates on the April 5 ballot are Jan Fisk in Zone 2 and Thomas Bieker in General Seat D.
