The City of Springfield’s Building Development Services (BDS) department is now offering a valuable new service to the industry: the ability to request inspections online.
City staff developed the new offering as a result of ongoing conversations with leadership of the HBA of Greater Springfield and others in the industry. City staff utilized input from the industry to establish the new service in a format designed to be most beneficial to those in the industry.
When users submit online requests, they will receive a confirmation number showing the city has officially received the request. It will be loaded into the inspector’s routing automatically. Requests must be submitted before 8 AM to be active the same day. Afternoon footing inspections still will have to be called in on the phone inspection line.
How to get there:
- Go to Springfieldmo.gov
- Click on Services tab
- Click on Construction Related Permits
- Choose Inspection Request (on left side of page) OR
- Simply enter http://www.springfieldmo.gov/build/insprequest/ into web address bar and follow instructions
