The HBA’s 5th annual Belt Sander Race is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20. The event starts at 6 pm and will be held at Carnahan-White Fence Co.,
Can you think outside of the box and are you good at creating machines? Consider entering a belt sander in the modified class. The modified class is an opportunity for anyone that has ever wondered “Why does that belt sander go faster? I bet I know how to make one run faster than anybody else’s!!” Simply put, the modified class is for any belt sander that has been built from scratch or has had modifications made to the way it operates. For those of you that believe belt sanders come straight out of the box, the stock class is for you. This makes things nice and easy, but we do recommend taking your belt sander out of the box before race night to make sure it truly works!
And, of course, there will also be a prize for the “Best Dressed” belt sander. Decorating your belt sander does not make it a modified belt sander – it just makes it look better. Competition was tough last year for the best dressed belt sander – start planning your entry now!
For those of you not yet brave enough to enter the Belt Sander Races, come join us and cheer on your favorite belt sander! Tasty BBQ will be served for dinner and you will get to help choose the “best dressed” belt sander. This event is sponsored by Carnahan-White, Inc., Dyke Industries, Wildcat Tool Rental and HK&W Supply. The fee to enter a belt sander is $5.00 and the fee for dinner is $15.00. The entry form will be available later this week on the HBA’s home page and it has more details and all of the rules and regulations. Please call Charlyce or Kay at the HBA office (881-3711) by Friday, April 16th to make your reservation. Hope to see you there!!
